What is the main problem that most Reiki practitioners have when they are applying Reiki on other people? In short the answer is they are not really sure what is really happening with the Reiki energy as it is going into the client.

The big hurdle that as you have as Reiki practitioner is to trust that the Reiki energy coming from the Universe, that is going through you, is actually doing good and healing your Reiki Client (or yourself for that matter) regardless of the situation.

Now, what can you say to your clients about the results of the Reiki treatment? Can you say to them “You will notice a change in one, two or three days” or some other prediction? The truth is you cannot make such a recommendation with this cosmic transcendental energy that is Reiki. However, what you can do is ask them to contact you in a couple of days if they feel better and tell you about it. You see my dear one, as a practitioner you need your Reiki clients to follow up with you so that you can gain confidence and more intuitive understanding on how the Reiki system works.

Often the Reiki energy takes 2, 3 or 4 days to finish its work inside the body, and so you can expect an improvement over 1 through to 4 days after a treatment. So, you can tell your client, to monitor the state of their condition over the next 3 to 4 days. This is not a prediction but it is definitely something you can say that will guide the client.

Next, the Reiki treatment itself is always beneficial and you must remind your client of this because there are some times when a client may have an adverse reaction to the Reiki energy.

This is the Reiki energy “cleaning out” the client. What this means is, that certain harmful energies that are deep in the body, locked in the subconscious mind and then manifest deep in the physical body’s tissues are suddenly released from client’s system.

This energy has to exit somehow, and so we can define this release as a “healing crisis”. The client can feel very uncomfortable during a healing crisis. He or she may release the energy in any number of ways, especially through any of the outlets and orifices in the body including the pores of the skin. This could mean sweats, diahhorea, headaches, vomiting, stomach problems etc.

When this happens to a person after Reiki, reassure them that there is nothing wrong, that it is OK and it is exactly what is supposed to happen. Tell them “You are releasing pent up and built up energy in the body that is doing you harm, and by having this “cleaning out” or purging experience, the harmful energy is being taking out of your body so it cannot harm you any longer”.

So, that is the essence of the purging or healing crisis experience. You need to give your clients confidence and guide them through this experience. Reiki does this often, you’d be surprised how often it makes a client go into a healing crisis, which is a purging experience to get rid of negative pent up energies that are doing the body harm.

So, most of all don’t “freak out” if your client has one of these experiences. Be confident that the Universe is doing exactly what is right for that client, and the person will gain the benefit in 3 or 4 days. Tell them to “be” with the healing and to understand they are energetically getting rid of something toxic out of their body. 

Healing crises can happen regularly with all types of deep healing, including the Holographic Healing CD that we offer. There are times when people have a healing crisis, and childhood emotions of feeling not worthy, abused, upset and worthless are suddenly released and experienced in the conscious mind.

When this happens the client can think these emotions are his experience in his life now, in his present adult form. Just remind him, “This is how you felt when you were a child, and these energies are now being released from inside you. Once you let them go, they will not harm your physical body any longer, and they will not force you to act in ways that come from fear, loathing and hatred (basically you will not be acting “stupidly” any more). You will be able to come from peacefulness and calmness; and you will be more in control of your life once your energies are released”. This is what you need to tell clients if they have these experiences with these healing energies.
